Mama’s Fudge
Ingredients:
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoon cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
Preparation:
In a heavy pan, mix and cook sugar. Salt, cocoa, and milk stirring only until it begins to boil, then lower heat. Cook for about 45 minutes until a little dropped into a small amount of water forms a perfect ball. Remove from fire and vanilla, butter, and pecans.
Mix lightly, then set aside to cool until it loses some of its gloss; then beat until it seems dull and thickened. Pour into buttered pan and cut into squares.
